Greensboro Aquatic Center to Host U.S. Synchronized Swimming 2012 Olympic Team Trials

At tonight’s ribbon cutting ceremony for the Greensboro Aquatic Center (GAC), USA Synchro has announced it will bring its 2012 Olympic Trials to Greensboro on November 11-14, 2011.

“For us, Greensboro was a natural fit to host this event,” said Jordan Dillon, Business Development Director for USA Synchro. “The staff at the Greensboro Aquatic Center and Greensboro Area Convention & Visitors Bureau have gone above and beyond to provide us with everything we are looking for in a facility.”

The four-day event will feature America’s elite athletes competing for a spot on the 2012 U.S. Synchronized Swimming Olympic Team that will head to London for the 2012 Summer Olympic games.

“Hosting an Olympic Team Trial is a tremendous honor and we are thrilled to land such a prestigious event in our first year of operation,” said GAC manager Susan Braman. “We are very excited to be working with USA Synchro to make this special event memorable for all the participants, their families and spectators.”

In addition to delighting attendees with their exhibition this evening as part of the ribbon cutting ceremony, the U.S. Synchronized Swimming National Team has another exhibition scheduled for Saturday, August 27th at 5 p.m. that is free and open to the general public.
